Leo and I

I don't want Michael Savage on my team and I bet Leo does not want him on his either. I strongly disagree with Kos on this post. We need these guys to be marginalized to the point of extinction. They should be recognized as the gasoline throwers that they are. No one ever ran a healthy democracy on a series of uncontrolled explosions.

You are right on! I have never been able to give him any more than about 5 minutes before I turn him off in disgust.

Iteresting, though, I had heard that he in real life was supposedly not so extreme and that his show was an act. It would explain the caricature but would show him to be a charlatan. Sadly I cannot recall the source so I must take him to be sincere.

I have to admit that I think there are a few people out there who play it up quite a bit. I really do not believe that all these smart people believe everything they say all the time. I think that at least some have found a good gig throwing red meet to the partisans and will keep on doing it as long as they keep getting paid.

This does point out a weakness in our wonderful democratic system. We have a media that needs viewers and will sell them what they want to get them. We need the media to give us good information so we can make good political choices. I'm not sure there is an easy fix. Unless of course, people like you and I stop giving them money by turning them off. Or keep writing in and telling them that what they say does not help Americans much.
